Criminal Lawyer & Law Firm in Karachi

Criminal defence and complainant work, from the first police contact through trial and appeal.

Raised hands in metal handcuffs

In brief

A criminal matter can begin with a phone call from the police, a complaint or an FIR. What is said and done in those first days often affects the rest of the case.

We advise accused persons and complainants on the Pakistan Penal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure, handle bail, attend to investigation issues, conduct trials, and file appeals and quashment petitions.

Who this is for

Anyone accused of, or affected by, a criminal offence in Karachi, including businesses and overseas Pakistanis.

How we can assist

  • Trial defence before Magistrates and Sessions Courts
  • Bail and FIR-related proceedings
  • Private complaints and complainant representation
  • Quashment petitions where justified
  • Criminal appeals and revisions

When clients come to us

  • The police have called you for questioning
  • You have been named in an FIR over what is really a civil dispute
  • You are a victim and the case is not moving
  • A trial court has convicted you or a relative

How the matter moves

We begin with the FIR or complaint and the investigation record. After the challan is submitted, the charge is framed and evidence recorded, including cross-examination of witnesses. Depending on the outcome, the case may conclude there or move to appeal.

Papers to keep ready

  • FIR or complaint copy
  • Police notices or summons
  • Evidence supporting your position
  • Previous orders in the case

Questions clients ask

Should I go to the police station if called?

Take advice before you go. Check whether the notice is lawful, and do not ignore it. In many cases protective steps can be taken first.

Can a false FIR be challenged?

There are remedies, including bail, presenting your version to the investigating officer, and in suitable cases a petition before the High Court.

Can a criminal case be settled?

Only compoundable offences can be settled with the parties' agreement. Others continue even if the parties reconcile, though that may be relevant.
