The Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 (PECA) covers unauthorised access, electronic fraud, identity misuse, harassment and related offences. Investigations are handled by the specialist federal cyber crime agency, previously the FIA's Cyber Crime Wing and now the NCCIA.
