Property Registration & Transfer in Karachi

Sale deeds, gift deeds, mutation and society or authority transfers completed correctly.

In brief

A property is transferred differently depending on whether it falls under the Sub-Registrar, KDA, SBCA, a cooperative society, DHA or a cantonment board. Documents typically come under the Registration Act 1908, the Stamp Act 1899 and the Transfer of Property Act 1882.

We prepare the deed and guide both sides through stamp duty, taxes, NOCs and registration, so there is no gap in the title for future buyers.

Who this is for

Buyers, sellers, donors and heirs completing a transfer, and overseas owners acting through an attorney.

How we can assist

  • Sale, gift and exchange deeds
  • Authority and society transfers
  • NOC and verification procedures
  • Stamp duty and tax guidance
  • Power of attorney for transfer

When clients come to us

  • A sale needs final registration after an agreement
  • Parents want to gift property to children
  • A property needs transferring within a society
  • An overseas seller needs to act through an attorney

How the matter moves

We verify title and clear any dues, draft the deed, and confirm the applicable stamp duty and tax. The parties or their attorneys execute it before the registration authority or the society, and we then follow up on entries in the record.

Papers to keep ready

  • Previous title documents
  • CNICs of parties and witnesses
  • Tax and utility clearances
  • Power of attorney, if applicable

Questions clients ask

What is the difference between agreement and registration?

An agreement commits the parties to a sale, while a registered deed or the proper authority transfer normally completes it.

What taxes are payable?

Stamp duty, registration fee, and withholding taxes on buyer and seller may apply. Rates change, so we confirm current charges for your transaction.

Can a gift be made to a family member?

Yes. A gift deed needs to meet the legal requirements, and the taxes and registration procedure should be checked.
